Automatic updates for Linux (Fedora) & FreeBSD
27 Aug 2006 - DaveThe Windows based systems receive updates using SUS (Sofware Update Services).
That allows a server to check for and download updates nightly. And instead of each system downloading the same updates over the DSL line, they get them from the server on the local network.
As the Fedora systems grew on the network a similiar server was configured for that purpose. A nightly routine replicates the yum update repository. From there the local systems get their updates locally.
