ClipLink – a utility to create Outlook email friendly hyperlinks

ClipLink was developed awhile ago to deal with hyperlinks in email.

Email hyperlinks, shortcuts and urls are some of the most juicy targets for viruses, spyware and phishers.  Security updates affect how linking works in email but for most folks it just causes frustration.

When you want to insert a link:

Open Windows Explorer and go to the file or folder you want
Right-click on that file or folder; select Send To > Clipboard-Link
A window pops up to display a properly formatted hyperlink to show you what it is now on the clipboard
Go back to your email, document or spreadsheet and Paste  the hyperlink

ClipLink was done in VB6.  The NSIS installer takes care of setting up the Send To > Clipboard-Link context shortcut.
